what i usually do is jack up my rear end with my floorjack, and wheel it out of the garage

Can't you buy a garage that is sloped towards the door, that way you wouldn't need reverse, you would just be able to roll out backwards .....

hmmm I might just pull the car out with a rope that is tied to the towing hook.......

at least I will get a good work out at the same time...

You may find that you don't have the revs high enough to get it into reverse .... I find that I need to have the engine spinning at at least 5k rpm before reverse will engage ....
