"rev hang" during hard shifting?

Mine does the same thing. I hate it. I don't think its my clutch because its a 2007 car with 13000 miles. I have removed my CDV and the problem persists. I cannot for the life of me get the tires to chirp on a 1-2 shift.

I'm not a mech but it does sound like clutch slippage. If you dont notice this at lower RPM's it could be a design factor that preceeded the CDV to prevent overloading the transmission and rearend. Weak (by design) pressure plate might be the problem.

I hate it as well, on the fence on whether or not to remove my CDV, I have a 2005 with 34K miles and everyone thinks I'm riding the clutch when I shift at high revs. Even my Honda Fit I traded in for the S would bark from 1-2.
