"rev hang" during hard shifting?
my revs seem to "hang" if i shift really quickly at high rpms.
for instance... 100% throttle in 3rd... 8000rpm... clutch in/throttle off... shift to 4th... clutch out/100% throttle.
what happens is, the revs will hang at 8000 for about 1.5 - 2 seconds before dropping to ~6000 (as opposed to instantaneously dropping when clutch engaged)
- i'm NOT powershifting (keeping throttle in while clutch goes in)
- clutch doesn't seem to be fading in any other conditions (eg, i can start in 4th from a stop and the clutch doesn't slip
- if i granny shift at that rpm, the clutch acts as normal
- if i release-then-stab the gas when the revs are hanging the rpm will drop to normal.
WHAT GIVES?!?!

oh, btw, i've been driving stick for quite a few years, and the only time something like this has occurred, was when the clutch was fading... but even then, other signs were telling me the clutch was fading.
