There was no wheelspin at all.

Got any ideas on why the clutch didn't engage? was I revving too high?

How old is your car? It takes a few thousand miles for the clutch to reach it's full power. This happened to me before, now the clutch is much stronger.

Weird.

You didn't let the clutch out fast enough. My first two times dropping it, I did this and did NOT like the smell. Just let of the clutch quickly and hold on for dear life...

Oh I definitely smelled the clutch. The smell was horrible and everywhere. I had a new stock clutch put in about 7,000 miles ago.

How would letting the clutch out faster improve the situation. I had already let it out (at what I thought was fast) and it did not engage. My foot was completely off the clutch at the very end and it still hadn't engaged and I was still gassing at 5,000 rpm. The engine was definitely turning, but I wasnl't going anywhere, and my foot was off the clutch.

???

Ya heated up the plate first reving it up, therefore, plate is glazed over by the heat, when fully engaged, it just spun together, i launched mine ONCE, had to put entire new clutch assembly, an 8 inch clutch disc is just not big enough to handle the load, just don't do , unless you don't mind putting a new clutch in every few months

I've always wondered about it. Never did it before, so I thought I'd try. Well, now I know, and it won't be repeated.

"Really" fast is NOT fast enough. Your foot must beat the clutch pedal to the top and the pedal must start off being right to the floor. I've "launched" my car several times and it has always hooked up.
