could u ask them if u only have a 02 soft top would it fit the '00 frame? (assume u have the defroster kit wiring)
It's not that simple, if you want the rear glass window, you must change the frame as it is designed differently to work with the glass.

Thus no, the soft top for the plastic window CANNOT be fitted with the 02 glass window. You must change the soft top, AND frames in order to fit the glass. Otherwise, the glass rear window will break if you force fit it with the 01 frame.

Aimee,

How much for everything? '02 top plus conversion kit plus labor. Also, if you don't mind telling us how much are you paying in addition to insurance.

Once I get all the details back from the repair shop, I will let you know. The parts guy said that the 2002 top comes with the window for about the same price as the 2001 top + the plastic window. They had to order a retro-fit kit to make it all work.

I will probably not know the exact breakdown, but I wil try to find out once they are done. Hopefully I will get the car back by the end of next week.

I did not have to purchase a 2002 frame. They were able to replace the top on my MY01 frame with a 2002 top and glass back window with minor modification to the existing frame.

That's very interesting. Is there any way your dealer would document this so the rest of us know what to do??

I can ask the dealership... but I believe the dealership contracts with an independant upholstery shop.

I have a hard top installed. I wonder if the cost of new soft top would be reduced because the rear defrost switch and cord assembly is already installed in my car?

How much did you end up paying for the glass back window when all was said and done, Aimee? If you don't mind my asking.
