Retro-fit is POSSIBLE!

With some of our plastic windows getting so fogged it becomes a safety issue. I would think we could protest Honda to make the retro-fit tops available for the $850 it costs for a regular MY02 top. Or perhaps threaten them with legal action if some action is not taken. My 01 is six months old and even though I pamper my rear plastic window, visibility is horrible and this is unexcusible on a $32,000 car. Or any ragtop for that matter.

to put the soft top onto the 00/01 frame? i was thinking about doing that...and spend just $800.
the '02 top is $715 (blue only) at HandA accessories.com
and i was quoted the '02 top (black color) from hpart.com for only $820 and $30 shipping, no tax.

The service department at the Honda dealer wouldn't even perform the roof switch if I bought the new roof. They said they'd have no idea how and its not their job. All they'll do is put a hard top if I want and rape me on the labor fee.

My s2000 was vandalized and the dealership is replacing my 2001 soft top with a 2002 top. The old top + plastic window is about the same cost as the 2002 top which includes the glass window. THe only price difference is the retro-fit kit, which is about $200-300. This comes with the defroster kit, etc.
Once I get my car back from the dealer (next week) I will post more.
