Retro-fit is POSSIBLE!
I haven't been in this forum for a long time, so I don't know if anyone has posted about this topic, but I recently learned that the retro-fit of the soft top with rear glass window is possible. Check the following URL.
http://www.honda.co.jp/parts/s2000_ht/soft_top/
Here, it says that Honda made it available a "soft top kit" that retro-fits S2000 that were made before the change. The price is 200,000 yen, which is about 1,800 USD excluding tax and labor. It comes with either Blue of Black, and the kit includes the center console parts that are necessary to operate the defroster. The chart shows that what parts number you need depending upon what frame number you have and the soft-top color of your choice. The chart appears to be complehensive, and the kit will fit all S2K's made before the change.
Isn't this great? I think this is a piece of evidence that shows how "committed" Honda is to S2000. Can we say that our beloved car will be around for a while?
Good motor driving to all!

I also have a 2000 S2k, however, I cannot tell you which kit number fits you because I believe S2K's in the US use a different ID number system. But I'm positive that when the kit becomes available in the States, they will provide you with the right one. I hope they bring it there, FAST.

i am not interested in the $1800 "conversion kit" as we can now get
a hardtop for a few hundred bucks more. i'd rather get a hardtop.
i mean, can you just buy a 2002 softtop for from the dealer? 'cuz that
only costs $850.
