Restoring to show room

Restoring to show room
Recently bought a 2005 with 50k on it. Nice condition. Interior looks like it's brand new. Overall I was please, I paid 16. It's suzuka blue. I toyed with wheels, coils, hardtop, etc and realized I loved it new like when I bought my first S, an 02 back in 02.
Clutch had a little slip so I'm changing it out. Going oem with a flywheel pressure plate upgrade. Other than that I'm having it repainted it's original color. Paint was 8 years old and I wanted it back new. Sent it to a highly regarded custom paint shop in my state. Just to have it taken a part totally and repainted right with some new rubber around the convertible seal. New headlights oem, refurb the ap 2 v1 wheels.
So the car will look like it did fresh in 2005. No mods. Factory lip and spoiler. Undecided on side strikes. It's gonna be around 5-6k for all of this but I wanted her back new.
Anyone do this? Wise or waste?

I honestly think it's wise...not only does the car really not need anything, looks absolutely perfect stock, but even though I just bought one myself slightly modded due to going with AP1 and not much choice really when shopping for an AP1 nowadays, just a matter of how bad I wanted it to be messed with, it's so refreshing when I see a super clean one that's just stock and left alone.
I think it's a great thing, especially if you DD it...I think a car like that is worth much more in resale value than a modded one down the road, especially years from now when it'll be that much harder to track something like that down

agree, I'll be doing something similar, but probably not quite as excessive. There's small things I cal live with but deep scratches, one tiny bit of rust, and quarter panel dings will be going soon enough.

The paint really depends on where you go and what kind of color you get (metallic/pearl/gloss)
it would also depend heavily on what condition you body is in.
If you have gotten a quote I would love to see a picture of the car and the price you received to do this.

My list of things to do:
1. PDR the entire car.
2. Re-paint the exterior.
3. New carpet on the interior and trunk.
4. Remove current seat covers, re-upholster the seats.
5. Urethane bushings.
My first child will be born in November, and my wife and I have some financial goals to meet as well, so I am not sure when this will happen - but when I bought this car 8 years ago it was my dream car. My ultimate goal is to keep it forever and restore it to as close to show room new as I can and have a 'classic' in the garage.
She's an '01, so as a 12-year old car I would like to get started sooner rather than later.

OK well after a couple of tries......I managed to get a photo posted. As for a couple of the questions that were asked. I spent $16,000 on the car. The clutch with the ap1 flywheel and slighter better pressure plate is going to run $1,500 installed. The repaint in oem Suzuka Blue is gonna run about $3,500-$4,000 with about $1,500-$2,000 in parts and pieces, mainly molding and a bit of trim.
The headlights are the b**ch, its basically a grand to replace them both with new oem. They are yellowed pretty bad right now. Polished they look ok, but not new. That's just the shell too. I wish I had some close ups on the wheels. Not a lot of curb rash but just have a weathered look that's hard to describe.
She's not my daily driver either. She'll get the highway time but not everyday. I still got my S2000 car cover.
