Resonated Test Pipe vs Strait Test Pipe

Resonated Test Pipe vs Strait Test Pipe
I'm sure there's someone out there in the same boat as me. Hoping to get your input. I absolutely love the sound of my car with the supercharger, stock cat and comptech exhaust. I've put a strait testpipe on my car, a couple times actually, and the sound of the exhaust is very raspy, ricey, and loud. Eventually I end up going back to the stock cat and although I lose a little power, I am returned to the exhaust's deep rumble that I love.
I've seen some resonated testpipes and I was wondering how their sound compared to the strait through TP and the stock catalytic converter. Does the resonator actually quiet and calm the riceyness? Does anyone out there have experience with both a strait through TP and a resonated TP on an aftermarket exhaust? Was there any noticeable difference between the 2?

Ive had both resignated and currently Im running a straight pipe. There was that much sound difference actually I think I like my straight pipe better. I won't go back to the Megan resignated pipe because the inside fell apart on me and was very annoying. I've read that others have had the same problem also. id recommend just get a straight pipeif you don't like it you can always resell it. straight pipes sell fast I guess.

yeah idk what your talking about op...this "ricey" word is thrown around for anything some1 isnt expecting to hear out of their exhaust...i heard a comptech exhaust wit tp and it sounded great although he was just cruising down the street...tp on my car tho its not a comptech(hks) made a world of a difference...i can never go back...

i have a resonated test pipe. it's not ricey AT ALL, and according to my own research (i want to switch to a straight pipe), the straight pipe is a lot louder. it also depends on which exhaust you have..
PMed you on a straight trade.

A supercharger tends to amplify the volume of the exhaust a good bit. Without the supercharger I doubt the sound would bother me as much. When I was NA w/ a stock exhaust I really liked the sound the testpipe gave, even though it still sounded a little "unrefined" IMHO.

I'm sure there are a few people out there that had the same questions I did. I ended up buying a resonated testpipe to give it a shot. The sound is much much more bearable compared to the strait through testpipe. It still changes the tone of the exhaust a little, seems a little higher pitched than before. It definitely serves to quiet and calm the sound compared to a strait through testpipe.
