reset maintence req'd light and it affect fuel gauge reading!?!?
I just changed my fluids (tranny, differential, and engine oil) over the weekend and today I went to gas up the car. I had 2 bars on gas showing when I left for that station which is less than 2 miles from my house. I pulled up to the pump and turned the car off. I then reset that Maintence Req'd light then (after turning the key back off) proceeded to gas up my car. The pump shut off after supplying 10.6 gallons. I started the car and much to my surprise the gas gauge showed EMPTY and the low fuel warning light was on!! What the HELL!!??!! I continued driving since I knew damn well the car wasn't empty. After a minute or so I had 3 bars of fuel showing, but it took over 10 minutes before it registered full (adding only one bar at a time of the course of the time).
So has this happened to anyone else? I did a couple searchs but could not find any mention of anything like this.

Sorry I need to bring back this OLD thread. I have exactly the same problem as STL mentioned (changed fluids during the weekend, then miss 2 right bar on the right....).
It already fill up once but still 2 bars are missing for even I fill it up full
Any idea?

I just had this problem. Happened only once. Filled up and two bars were still blank. I was all ready thinking about if this station is trying to rip me off...
Drove it a couple miles and it went to full.
The problem I always have is very inaccurate readings at the low end. When I fill up there can be a 2-3 gal variation in how much I need, even when the gauge is the same. Also, at the low end, the gauge will vary the bars depending on the kind on slope I'm on, but once the warning light comes on, it stays on.
