Rai, I don't know about you, but to most people $500/month is fairly expensive. Not to mention, that's only the car payment! What about insurance? Gas money? These things all factor into the total price of the car, not just the price of the car itself. Kansorian, you're doing the smart thing by using your money for college. If you can't afford an S, then get something that you can afford for now. You'll get another S later in life if you can't have one now, they aren't going anywhere. Let us know how everything works out for ya

Well yeah when I was younger $500 + gas + ins was a lot. But then I didn't have a S2000. I had a VW Fox for 8 long years. I am just saying when I was a kid I didn't buy a corvette and then complain that my dad lost some money, etc.. My dad never had any money to own a strip mall.

Get an education get a good job and then $500/month won't seem like much money.

ok, just a couple of things.

i am 18 yrs old, i am in college (full time student), and i drive a Spa Pearl Yellow S2000.
i pay for it: 180 month for insurance. 260 month for payment. i also work 40 hours a week. when it all comes down to it, are you really willing to work your ass off? thats what i do, sometimes i wish i would've been smarter about the decision, but then again, all i have to do is walk outside and see the culmination of all my wet dreams.

but enough about that, why dont you look into a VW GTi VR6, you can find a used one for like 6-8000, and they move, and handle, or 240 sx, they arent straight line monsters, but they can handle as well. just acouple of ideas.

I would say Miata or a '98 GTI VR6. Very, very fun car.

thanks for everyone's help. the one main reason is that the ford is good is that we've lost 5 kids in my grade alone this last two years to car wrecks, and if i'm not mistaken that peace of crap Ford was one of the safest cars on the road, plus it's big. And if i get a car my dad likes, he might just might throw in a little financial aid on it if he can...

and i wouldn't diss ford's too much, before the s i had a 97 mustang cobra that i bought that had been stolen and the engine removed, but then they were both recovered in mint condition...so i little wrench time and my friends dad's shop...maybe a total cost of $25 for use of my neighbers Silverado and 50 for the wrecker, i had one hell of a fast car. sadly, it was totalled by a lady talking on a cell-phone. (The huge amount of insurence money we got helped to pay for the S)

Kansorian, I have a very nice 1999 Mazda Miata 10 th anniversery edition, with only 33000 miles. The car is not as powerful as the honda, but is a blast to drive well balanced and reliable. Pm me for more info, if interested. Janat
