Reporting an A-hole Dealer
About a month ago I went to go buy a S2K at a local dealer. I had the one I wanted pick out and I left a deposit. After they ran my credit I found out that I was not approved. Yet the dealer still refuses to give me my deposit back.
I already filed a dispute with my credit card company but i was wondering if anyone knows if Honda headquarters has a complaint department where I can file a complaint about a dealer?
Any info would be appreciated.
I ended up putting the car under my dads name at a different dealer. The JO doesnt even realize that he lost a sale because he is a A-hole.

By law, they can't keep your deposit unless you receive a product or service in exchange for it, or a signed agreement from you stating that your deposit is nonrefundable. Unless you signed such an agreement, tell them to cough up your money or expect a call from an attorney, and my bet is that you'll see a check sooner than later.

I had a similar problem with Carmax Toyota. I put down a $500 deposit so they would transfer a Sequoia from another dealer. the next day I got a UBS price $2000 cheaper. I called Carmax and told them no thanks. The manager said that the car had already been transferred and she was not going to give me the deposit back. I told her that I signed nothing that said it was a non-returnable deposit. Instead of dealing with the manager, I stopped by the cashiers office, gave her my receipt and asked for a refund. 1 week later I received the refund in the mail.
Oh yeah, when I got home, my sales guy left a message telling me that the car would not be transferred for a couple of days. If the manager was going to lie, she should have got her story straight with the salesman.
