Default replica c-west kit

i've seen c-west kit selling on ebay for under $500 USD. i emailed the seller he said it's a replica. is there any difference between the real C-west & the replica c-west?

should i go for the replica? i mean i can't afford to buy the real one~

the seller said it's exactly the same styling, and made of fiberglass.

Ask him if he will guarantee you the fit. People have bought this replica kit and have spent hundreds of dollars getting it to fit properly on their cars. Sure they are both made out of fiberglass but the thickness of the fiberglass needs to be considered also. It's not the same sure same styling, but not the same quality, and in the end that is what you pay for.

One of my friends bought the replica kit. There was a one inch gap around the headlights....other than that it fit Ok.

I had a repica kit also, the quality is pretty much crap compared to the original. I have seen real C-west kits and the construction is excellent..

Fiberglass is fiberglass. Whatever you hit, it will break. That's why I avoid a fiberglass front bumper. I have gone through several of them, not with my S2000 though. Things just like to appear out of nowhere on the freeway and next thing you know, you smack it and there goes a chunk of your bumper tearing away as you look in the rear view mirror. Never happens when I drive any other car, only when I have a fiberglass bumper.

Fiberglass is not bad. The force needed to destroy a fiberglass bumper will likely cause damage to anything. I would think if you plan on hitting things with your car, buy an SUV.

The japanese market prefers fiberglass because it can be made lightweight and strong. Urethane is heavy and can warp. It also requires more hardware since it usually cannot support its own weight to keep its shape (which is why there is foam behind your factory bumpers).

There are many different quality levels of fiberglass parts and body kits. Some cars come stock with factory fiberglass body parts so you can imagine that fiberglass itself is not the problem. Unfortunately you can't tell without having the product in front of you if it is good or not (like many products out there, actually). So the next best thing is to look at the warranty/guarantee the part(s) come with. Buying a replica kit from ebay can be a big risk. Buying a replica kit from a shop that will guarantee your satisfaction takes alot of that risk out.

That's why all shops will say "Sold as is". I haven't found a shop online yet that will guarantee satisfaction with a replica kit. If anyone else does though, send it my way
