If you have a steamer, you should be able to get rid of some of the lines. Did you purchase the vinyl or canvas top?

on mine, the wrinkles just went away after a little while. just make sure you leave it top up for a week or so to let it stretch out to the shape it needs to be. and i'm sure the defroster grid isn't necessary for a lot of people, i personally just got it because i think it looks better. especially given how much trouble i had with the wiring harness i bought for it...

Sometimes it bulges, sometimes it doesn't. Do you have any pics?

^ Thats what I did, because the plugs wouldnt fit mine either.

Also on the front corners I used a little bit of upholstery glue that my uncle had in his garage, just for a little extra assurance.

Mine has the same bunches at each side of the glass where the two top sections meet. I think the material just needs to be steamed/ironed out flat due to it never having been "trained" into the proper position from the manufacturer. I have also noticed that the very ends of those two pieces of fabric appear to have been made a little long, resulting in the fabric bulges making the top appear a bit lumpy in the back.

It's too rainy here right now to take pics, but I'll get some up ASAP.

Pics of the 'bunching':

Hope they aren't too big.

Seems Comcast is having problems. If the pics aren't loading, blame my ISP. I might have my g/f re-host them on her photobucket account.
