Default replacing wiper blades on my 02 S2000

Dumb question I know. They just failed the inspection on my car because of the wiper blades. They seem fine to me, but whatever. They are metric. Do I have to go buy them from the dealer? That seems to be the easiest thing. The inserts are $5 and $8, so it may not be worth the time messing around with off the shelf ones.

Any wipers will fit. They are generic. Only the length matters. The drivers side is listed as 16", but you can go 17" or even 18", for a bit more viewable area.

While they are generic, many blades are driver or passenger specifc. Has to do with how much it curves, etc. So while any blade will fit, do pay attention to any driver vs passenger sizing.

Itd as easy as going into any parts store and picking up the book next the display of wipers, or going online to say, Amazon and searching by car make and model.

I've put 20" wipers on both sides and they work great. I have an '05 not sure if an '02 is different, however.

I put wipers on my cars that fit the windshield. So if I can fit one that is two or three in. longer than stock that is what goes on. Each car is different and each side can be different and they are on my cars except my Jeep(god awful small wipers).

I just replaced with Honda inserts for cheap- save the metal frame and stainless support pieces and replace the rubber part.

If I had known about the inserts, I would have just done that.

I can count on one hand the times I've driven my S in the rain.

Not crazy. And got nothing to do with actually driving in the rain.

My car failed last year for the same reason. Here in Virginia if the defect can't be fixed immediately before leaving the test site the test is recorded as a Fail and the record goes to DMV and I can't renew my tags until corrected. Needless to say I bought new blades at the extortionist price right then to avoid the hassle of fitting blades and then sitting thru the retest.

The test center has several "car guy" mechanics all of whom are fascinated by the S2000 and they spend a lot of time under the car making happy, cooing noises. They LOVE the Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust sound.
