Default Replacing the cupholder?

I ordered a new cupholder for my S because my old one got damaged. My question is, has anyone done this before? If so, how hard is it to take the old one out, and put a new one in? I guess I would follow Rick's directions for the console removal and go from there. Just thought I would check and see if anyone's done it before. Thanks

Not that hard to do. Pull the console, three screws hold in the cup holder then re-install the console.

It is not difficult at all. I took mine apart because the door mechanism wasn't working properly. Remove the plastic console by prying it up along the edges and popping the clips loose. Disconnect the hazard light button and e-brake leads. The shift boot will provide enough slack to lift up the console and flip it partially over, so you don't have to take the shift knob off if you don't want to. Then, just remove the screws that hold the cupholder to the console.

Does it matter which year S2K you have? The consoles are different (at least in their covering) from '01 to '02.
