Default Replacement Tires -- I Need Advise

I know you guys can help me....i blew a rear tire last week and the Bridgestone/Firestone idiots ordered me the wrong tire! I have 5000 miles on my car. Now they tell me that they want to put Firehawk SZ50 EP's on my car...because they can get them in tomorrow. I'll have to wait another week for the Potenza's. I need your help guys....I understand the Firehawk is a z-rated tire and I'm being told that I should stick to the OEM! What do you think I should do???

You have to get OEM tires from a dealership, as far as I know. I think Firestone stores only sell Potenza S02 Pole Positions which are slightly different.

The OEM tires are different than other S02's and IMO worth having. They are available, but must be ordered carefully because there are many similar tires but not designed specifically for this car. Tirerack can overnight OEM tires, but they are not the only source. I would not settle for the Firestones.

Thank all of you for your recommendation on the tires. I'm going to order the tires (the OEM's) from tirerack.com and have them shipped to a local installer.

Anita -- The OEM S-02s are different from the standard replacement S-02s. Make sure the guy at Tire Rack knows you have an S2000, and that the speed rating on the tire is "W," not Z. I bought a set of rears from them about 6 months ago so I know they have them, but you have to ask for the right thing. That W rating is the key.
