Default Repairing Rear Bumper Flaw

I think most of us have the rear bumper that doesn't line up with the passenger taillight. I've read that this is due to a clip that breaks and is a factory defect. I see it on nearly every S2000.

I haven't removed the bumper to check into it. Is there a solution to get it back to normal? I'm getting tired of people thinking it was hit in the back.

Thanks!
