Default Removing the stock exhaust??

What's the easiest way? There is a thin bar connecting two sides of the car. Do I remove this? To get the stock exhaust off? I have my car jacked up right now and I'm a little confused.

I'm installing my new tanabe. Should be fun! Just sprayed RustEater on the cat bolts. You should probably do that because they are really corroded! The hangars look a little tough to get out. Is there any easy way?

spray wd-40 or liquid wrench on them at least 2 days prior. I sprayed thursday morning, night, and friday morning and then installed on friday afternoon. The cat bolts were tight but came off after a few 'spirited' pushes. Make sure that whatever exhaust you get sits low enough so that it doesnt rub against the bumper, the one i installed melted the exhaust because INVIDIA sucks... the exhaust sounds awsome and looks cool, but they should have given new hangers and/or angled the part that connects to the anger PROPERLY.. guess it doesnt really matter any more tho... car is crashed.

tapout2000 and misternapps give excellent advice: spray Liquid Wrench, Kroil, PB Blaster, Rust Eater, etc. several times over a couple of days (or at least overnight) if you can. These things really do work. I feel that WD40 isn't as good a penetrant as the other products, but is better than nothing.

yeah a little wd-40 works fine...the hangers can suck helps if ya have a few different automotive type crow bar screw driver thingies.......Air compressor and air gun make the cat job a breeze.

yeah, i'm taking it over to a friends house tomorrow morning to do all the work with an impact wrench. It would be nice if we had a lift but I guess a jack will do.
