Default Removing side duct covers

Hey guys-

I have a MY00 S2k. Recently installed INJEN CAI. I noticed today that the ducts on the sides of the front bumper have plastic inserts. Is there any benefit to removing these? If so, will it increase risk of hydrolock? (Bypass valve is due in on friday). How do I remove them? Also, where is the drain hole I am supposed to plug? Pics would be GREAT.

He's talking about the faux brake ducts, I assume.

they are not inserts, rather, unpainted parts of the bumper.
