Now you're making me curious as to what it sounds like. I know even in my Civic, if I lift off my airbox cover it sounds awesome...but it definitely lost power, which is noticeable when you've been driving around for a while.

I have never experienced heatsoak with my PRM.

I think the vented hood helps prevent that:

I took mine off earlier today after reading this thread and took her up the road. She sounded sweet but I don't think I could deal with it all the time. I'd like to get an intake with that sound starting at Vtec or higher if anyone knows of one. Thanks for the idea S2KNJ! Now I've got a idea what these intakes sound like.

...not my idea, just saw a mention someplace. i haven't put mine back on yet, it's hard to say if there is a big time power loss.

I went to PRM's site Pete, not a whole lot of info. What did you pay for yours? how was the install?

intake wise i this guy i know had the comptech intake and he said it sounded great but really didnt give him any kind of increase power. But my other friend has the aem v2 and man that soundz great and gives you a little more power.

so i recommend the AEM V2

If you are trying to get some sounds, dont close the box all the way. It you clip the back and leave the front unclipped, youll get the same sound without the heat soak. Of course the intake it the best way to go.
