Default Removed black tape on windscreen

I have been wanting to remove the black tape on the windscreen for a long time, and I am so glad that I did. It looks great. Pics to come soon. However, from rubbing off the adhesive (with citrus degreaser) the rubber gasket around the windsheild has become rippled. Anyone know of any way to smooth it back out?

And, yes, my car is noticibly faster with the reduced weight.

I'm in the same situation. However, I've been to lazy to fix it. So I guess I'll see what other people have done.

yep. I guess we have to wait. and wait, and wait.

Seems that wheel weights are easier to answer.

This is pretty common even if you didn't pull the tape. It's just flexing from differential heating. Gently massage it back in place. You'll find another day, another section will do this. Not a big deal.

I wonder if taking a hair dryer to it will do something. I will try it and let you all know. It cant get worse than it is. And if it does, that is when I get the windsheild replaced. Thanks Xviper

Be careful when working around that rubber between the frame and the soft top - it's $250 to replace it!

But, I have full glass comprehensive insurance ($0 deductible) and the windsheild needs to be replaced any ways. I imagine the gasket would be replaced along with the glass. Correct me if I am wrong here.

Yes, it is. But he's talking about the rubber that the soft top seals down onto. An out of control hair dryer might do harm.

Well, parking it out in the evening sun seems to have greatly. It is much smoother, just not sitting completely flat. I might have to wait until August for a really hot day here in Seattle for it to be all fixed.

Thanks for all your replys
