Thanks, guys, but I think my intended project is going to fail for lack of an emblem part that I am that crazy about for the look I want. "Going bare" is a good idea, but for those attachment holes I'd have to contend with. I like to keep al my mods reversible. The Rick's "S" badges would be fine, if the "S" and emblem surround were chrome or stainless, instead of painted silver. The "S" from the "S 2000" side trim just isn't quite the look I want. And ebay is full of emblems that are just fine, if they were only "S" instead of "H". So abesnt some new ideas, I think I'll just leave as is.

But, hey, thanks for all your help,
Richard

THe badges are held on with adhesive. If you wanted to go back, you could just take careful measurements on placement, remove the tabs (that likely broke off when removing the badge anyway) put some of the same adhesive onto the badge and replace it. No one would ever know that you had gone "naked."

I'm thinking of shaving them all. Not sure if I'm going to do the key hole in the trunk or not.

ruexp67:

Sure, I could remove the stock "H" emblems, have a body shop fix the holes and refinish, and re-install the emblems at "sell time." It would work fine. My only problem with this is that I strongly suspect that the cost of the paint and body work would be more than this mod would actually be worth to me. I've never gotten out of the body shop for less than $100 --- and usually much, much more. My thought was it would be worth it if I could find something like the JDM "H" badges with a red background (or rip offs thereof) which are all over ebay starting at $20 - $30 a pair, only with an "S" instead of an "H" it would be worth it to me. But, from what I can find, there airn't no such thing!

Thanks,
Richard

By the way, where did you get that "S" center plate for the steering wheel. Looks great.

Thanks
