CD, $31.87 for front pads is that for a set of 4 or just 2 (for 1 wheel)? If for 4 that is an incredible deal. I went out and bought new standard pads two weeks ago for $AUD167 which equates to around $US80 at current exchange rates.
Yes, that is a box of four pads for both fronts.. Trevor does cut us a good deal on parts.. much better than dealership prices.

Brakes on my 2000 SI were making noise . Took off wheels and rear rotors were worn in (groves 1/16" ) . I have about 20,000 freeway miles . I drive this car in Ohio winters . I think that problem may be with E-brake in caliper not letting pad move away from rotor , than pad heating up and groving rotor . Groved rotor taking out pad . Also Caliper may bind in bad weather and not move away from rotor . I do not think that problem from pad material or over heating of rotor from hard braking.

I travelled 280 miles to get there and 280 to get back (twice I've done it now), Croft is only 40 miles from me, its open 4 days to street cars this year, only twice last year, I 've enquired, but everyone I've spoke to who has been there mention barriers, barriers and more barriers.

Nice slant on rear pad wear, that's all Honda would have to have told me and I would have been satisfied, I used to replace parts like this on other cars I owned, just nervous with ABS being in the equation, do I need to be?
Wow Paul, that sounds like quite a track! - I'd love to try it.

At our recent Honda Club Calder day I was hitting 207k (130mph) at the end of the front straight and the back straight (much shorter) with an s bend chicane was long enough for us to hit 170k (105mph). Overall thought the track doesn't have a lot of curves and ain't that exciting.

I remember Croft fondly - I'm originally from Darlington - my father was born and raised in Croft. When my mother did her driver training it was just an old disused WWII airstrip. I'm glad it's still operating though.

Re your nervousness about ABS, I wouldn't be. I've owned a number of vehicles with it and it works fine without overcomplicating pad changing etc. If you want you can always disable the ABS - it's just a fuse!

2K,

The track is part of what was an Autodrome, over 5 miles in total that can be configured into 37 different tracks, this being one of the longest while allowing other tracks to be used, the 'sweeper from 100ish is down to ~35,onto the long straight and then 130mph is down to 50 ish, I guess this is where the brakes get plenty of warming

FYI We are seeing some Sun at the moment, but around 8 Deg C tops, lovely!!
