Default reached fuel cutoff

sounds like a paranoid question, BUT i guess i have to ask. i accidentally hit fuel cutoff the other day accidently. does this damage anything? or does fuel cut off protect it from anything bad happening? thanks gals/guys.

Hi ayS,

It's a common question and the answer is no. The S2000 revs so quickly (as you've obviously found out! ), especially once it's in VTEC and in the lower gears, that it's not uncommon to bump the rev limiter from time to time, especially for those who are relatively new to the car. That's probably the main reason that Honda programmed it that way in the first place. It protects the engine.

Now, having said that, I wouldn't recommend making a habit of it!

Drive Safe,
Steve R.

just don't make a habbit out of it...

you also have a rev cut for the temperature...make sure the cars always warmed up

^ Yep...found that out the 1st time i took my s on a spirited cold run with a cold engine (I freaked out wondering what the it was)

As for the rev limiter...it's there for a reason...Dont do it often, but dont stress too much about it when it happens.
