I seem to have noticed that when I push the car hard (rev it above 6k and keep it there), there is this rattling noise from the engine, like click, clack...etc. I have noticed it a few times and only happens when I rev the car really hard. I will let it rev up, don't shift, then let it deccelerate, and step on it again...
Has anyone experienced the same thing? I have 2300 miles on it and the car drives fine (lots of power in VTEC). I'm just a little worried since I will be going to the track next month where I will be above 6k most of the time.

 

Have you checked the oil?

This happens on my GSR now. I have 119,000 miles on it and it started to consume oil about 10,000 miles ago. When it gets low on oil, I can hear the engagement of VTEC and the disengagement of VTEC with a click.

 

I always check my oil since my S2K has consumed 2 quarts in 2300 miles. I do not think it is the sound of VTEC engaging. It is more like a repetitive rattle.

Does not sound good, but there is no way for even a good guess from the text description. I certainly would go to the dealer with it. Read over the threads about similar problems..
