Default Random soft top question on 04+

Anyone ever notice the velcro strips on the underside of the soft top at the rear window (left and right edges)? What exactly is the purpose of those strips?

Previous owner probably put those there to protect the soft top from tearing.

That can't be it. I've seen at least two other s2000's with these velcro strips. One thing I did not mention is that it's just the soft velcro half that is on each side, not the prickly half.

I have noticed that some started peeling so maybe it's been peeled off all the way.

one of them was falling off a bit and it looked bad so i just took them both off, im thinking its for some type of cover that goes over the rear window, havent noticed anything different/unusual

my guess is they put a velocroed sheet on the top window when shipping so as not to scratch the inside of the window, removed when at dealer?
