Default Rain and Vented Hoods?

Is okay to drive around in the rain with a vented hood? Wouldn't water get into the engine bay area and do damage? Just wondering, cuz planning to buy one, and wondered if a water would affect it?

Engine is waterproof, other than the intake air box opening. My service guy steam cleans the engine after every oil change and it's fine.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of the vented hoods come with inserts you can place over the vents in case it rains.
