Ragtop latch alignment

Ragtop latch alignment
I've searched for this but haven't found it ... forgive me if it's been asked before:
Since day one, the driver's side latch on my convertible top has been misaligned by a 1/2 in or so. Not a BIG deal, just have to push against it each time I latch it, but am wondering if there is some type of positioning screw on it that I couldn't see?!
Thanks,
Brian

ive got a similar problem just that its on my passenger side. i have to pull the top down (when im in the drivers position) and then latch it. Then i latch my driver side with no problem. My friend has the same issue with his 02 and he just took it to hte dealer and they aligned the top for him. i think i mite as well do the same.

I've had something similar from the day I brought my MY02 home from the dealer. It's not a half inch. It's more like a quarter inch maybe -- about half the width of the opening in the striker that the latch goes into. But I have to push the driver's side of the top a little to the left in order to latch it. I've never really worried about it, since it takes about two seconds and not much effort to do. The only reason I do it at all is that I like to get it lined up and close both latches at once. Otherwise, I suppose I could close the passenger side first and that would line it up enough that I could close the driver's side without pushing it.
I actually think that it might create a little tension and help prevent the top from rattling.

The potential tension advantage is an interesting hypothesis.
But let me clarify in case I've confused the problem: the driver's side latch is off by 1/4-1/2 inch of dead center in the left to right axis. And while it is not a huge deal (I can still latch both sides at the same time with a little care), it is one of those things I'd be happy to adjust if I can! However, if this seems normal, and in fact may be advantageous, I'll shut my beer-hole immediately!
Thanks guys (girls),
