V1. Arrows saved my ass in a way that a regular radar couldn't have. I would buy a V1 if it cost 2 grand.

if you want the latest and greatest with the best sensitivity look into the new Beltronics STI. But honestly these days a radar detector is not as helpful as a good laser jammer in the city, I have noticed in the past several years, fewer and fewer cops are using radar detectors here in metro atlanta. just my 2 cents

I have been using this cheap $100 cobra since 2002, and it barely works these days.
My GF has the passport 8500 and man.. that thing is amazing.
Gotta pay to play, I guess.

V1's cant take alot of heat before they over heat and crap out really easy so i pitched mine and bought a Bel STi and am 5 times happier with it then the V1... It self dignoses problems and has a amazing range...
if you go to the bel website they compare the V1 vs. the STi... the STi totaly destorys the V1... nuf said

most of those sites u see are also paid off by either valentine or beltronics or escort; etc to get better "reviews".

I kno personally because i tried every single radar detector that is even relatively worthwhile.

The only good thing about the STi is that it is suppose to be undetectable.

The Escort 9500i i would say is 2nd right behind the v1. and if you actually believe all the reviews the 9500i is rated better than the v1 and the STi for one reason. it has gps navi built in so it actually has alot less bogeys than any other detector on the market.

HOWEVER, the V1 is the most sensitive radar detector available which is what you need. The V1 is best used on highways only.

Anyone use a V1 with tinted windows? I heard metallic tint can interfere with the radar signals
