Default Quick question about cabin air filter

Does it only filter recirculated air, outside air, or always both? I havent changed mine yet, but for those of u who have changed it yourselves, you can proabably tell just by looking at how the ducts run.

The filter sits at the entrance to the HVAC system. Air passes through it to get into the car. Recirculated air stays inside the car, so no, it doesn't get filtered again.
