Default Quick Clutch Engagement Question

Good Morning,
Was wondering if someone in the forum can help me out. I've noticed my clutch engaging almost at the end of the floor in these last three weeks. Im not sure why its happened so fast but first off, i was wondering if that meant my clutch is getting bad. I read in a service manual that the clutch is self adjusting for wear.
Second thing I read in the service manual that you can adjust it and also read it in another post. I just wanted to make sure i know im doing it right. I looked under the dash of the drivers side of the s2k. First off, do you adjust the clutch itself. I noticed two screws attached to the frame you can say of the car. It had one on each side and a metal piece between it. To the left of the metal piece and screw there was a device that was oval shaped and connected to some wire piece. If That is what i need to adjust, do i need to turn the oval piece. If its not that piece but the clutch itself, I saw a little piece with is oval shaped connected to it. I didn't see any place i could adjust that. By the way, in the part connected to the frame part, I just want to clarify that is where the clutch is hitting normally. I just want to make sure im doing this right today. And do I have to be worried for the future with this clutch since I had to adjust it. Thanks
Have a Great Morning.
