I tend to research a lot before I buy a car, and I've owned many;over 20;cameros, mustangs, land cruisers, ford and chevy pickups, skylarks(68), lincolns, subarus, ect. ect.. As I got a little older I tended towards the consumer magazines and have found thier advice very good. That said they almost all said the s2000 was the best 2 seat drop top to be had at any price. nuf said. Now if money is no object to you then I would say go buy a vette or m3: buy don"t forget all those trips back to the dealer for warrnty work.

Having tested Z4, Boxster, Boxster S, Miata, Z3, Corvette for example, I would prefer one of thore over the S2000 if one of them had the Honda body shape, the red button, the gear lever, the steering wheel, the display, the seats, the top, the exhaust or the secret compartment.

Oh, and the uplifting factor S2k has. Dont ask me why but there it is.

If you dont feel anything like this when you see one of them, simply keep searching.

I think you need to stop putting words in all s2k owner's mouths. One person writes those articles that you are basing all of your assumptions upon. You know what they say happens when you assume, right?

Normally, this type of topic would be a recipe for disaster. Plenty of trolls come on this site looking for an e-fight and it gets tiresome. However, I purposely left this thread open because

1) The OP asked his question in a respectful manner - he didnt come on here flaming us - he just wanted the position he assumed to be clarified. For this, he at least deserved an answer

2) For the most part, I am actually glad (and dare i say, proud!) that we kept this thread civilized. Its nice to know at least 90% of the people in this thread can be mature about the topic. nice work guys

As for that other 10% of people who think its okay to say what they like and dictate what happens in thread - it needs to stop - you know who you are. It just ruins perfectly good threads

as for the topic in hand, FWIW, I do agree with most that has been posted. I actually sold my first S and looked for something else. Nothing I looked at had the value for money or the mystique that the S has. Thats also partly because of this great community that we have. Yeah, I ended up picking up another S!

You dont own an S2000, it owns you!

Please continue to keep this civilized!
