Question: Replacement Front Bumper Cover
While driving on Saturday, I scraped the bottom right corner of my front bumper on a high curb. Though the damage can only be noticed if you're on your knees (damaged area about the size of a quarter), I was wondering. . .
If I ordered a new bumber cover from my Honda dealer, would it already be painted? And if not, has anyone had problems with a high quality autobody shop matching the silverstone paint on the bumpers with the factory paint on the car?
Thanks in advance. . .

Just ordered new front bumper cover last week for my yellow 02 model. had a small fender bender in parking garage. I ask my dealer as well as the body shop the same question. Honda does not send any factory painted bumpers, due to not being able to guarantee the condition upon arrival after shipping. Body shop must paint, I will let you know how the match is.

No that was the factory -- I wish I had my digital camera with me this week so you could see what I mean by a different color. Oh well maybe next week.
It's not terrible (the color difference) but it is worse than the normal color seperation for yellow / silver cars in particular between the sheet metal and the plastic bumpers where more flex agent must be mixed into the paint.
That damage by the way was all my fault. It was the first time I had backed the car up with the top up, I was looking back just starting to think, wow I can't see a damn thing and then WHAM I realized I had turned to early and nailed a concrete post. Stupid stupid stupid.

Guys,
I can't even begin to tell you ..Be Carefull !.. If the bumper doesn't line up right Honda doesn't give a damn. My new bumper was off 5mm right to left. The DSM said it was within factory specs. I couldn't beleive it. Honda customer service stone walled me and were the rudest people I've ever delt with.
