Question for people with MY 00-01 Berlina Black
I was wondering how well your cars paint has held up over time. I saw my 04 Black in the sun today and noticed lots of little scratches and swirls, although I think the swirls are from the dealer detailing the car, that I did not notice in the shade or and a cloudy day. The car is only 2 weeks old.
So for people who have had black for a few years do you find that most of the little fine scratches even the fine white ones come out with a good polish and wax or does the problem compound itself as the car gets older?
I almost got red thinking it hides more but I did see an 03 red S2000 in direct sun light and it too showed scratches and the same spider web patterning that my black did so I figure other than silver all dark colors show swirls and scraches w black being the biggest pain in the a$$. My detailer wanted to kill me for getting black.
I'm hoping most of that stuff will come out with a quick trip to my detailer and not be permanent. I'm still glad I got the black but I just don't want people to look at it up close next summer and think it looks like crap.

It all comes down to how well you take care of the car - it doesn't matter which color your car is. Swirl marks are going to happen unless you use certain products. there is a section on S2Ki about washing your car - check it out
I'm not sure this is the answer you are looking for - I hope you are not looking for reassurance that you bought the right color - if you need that, come join the DARK SIDE

I have a 03 Berlina and I take GREAT care of it. It all comes down to how much time you devote to detailing your car. Microfiber towels are a must if you dont want those swirls and a nice finish using zaino always helps me.
