Hi all!

I spoke to my friend and he said that the S2000 is really a mid-engined car. Sure enough, I looked at the engine and it is located just right behind the front wheels.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks guys!!!

This is a "front mid-engine" layout, with the engine fully behind the front axle and fully in front of the rear axle.

Our mid is just not a "rear mid-engine" layout like the NSX and the Boxster.

It is a selling point in contributing to the 50/50 weight distribution and to the low polar moment.

Barry's right. Most people just aren't used to the idea of a front-mid engine car; when they think mid-engine, they usually think of a car like the NSX or MR2.

Dr. Barry,
I can't get over how beautiful the hard top looks on this car when I see the picture in your signature. I say you switch to old picture before you cost me 2K :

Another example of the Front/Mid engine design is the Panoz Lemans class race car.
