Question about moving
I may be moving to Texas at the end of the summer. I wanted to know, do I have to transfer anything as far as my lease goes? Or can I just keep paying to the bank I'm paying to now? Could I possibly find any rates beter in another state, or are the rates the same anywhere? Finance, rates and all the sh*t gets me confused.
Thanx,
Chris

I don't belive you have anything to do as far as your financing goes. All you should have to do is file for a change of address with the finance co. Once you set up housekeeping here in texas, you have 30 days to get your car insured, inspected and registered. This all has to be done in that order. Also you wil have to change your DL in the same time frame.
Texas collects taxes differently then some other states on leased cars that could cost you some cash when registering. I moved from CA to TX with a leased car. In CA they collected taxes with each payment instead of when you sign for the car. Becasue of this I had to pay the taxes on the sale price of the car to register it in TX. They would give me credit for all of the taxes I paid in CA, but it was a lot more then I expected. You should check on if the taxes where paid in full when the leasing co bought the car.
