So pointless...

S2000 is not a drag car.

It is so nice to own a "14 second car" that I've never abused.

My hats off to the 7,200 rpm clutch droppers.

i drag raced my S2000 at the track, did numerous street racing clutch drops and still had no problems......i did that with both a 2000 and a 2001 S2000 (the 2001 did make some grumbling when deaccelerating and they were warranty hungry so they did do one of the TSB's to it)...

anyway..... the S2000 is a pretty decent drag racing car for a 2.0 liter.

Is better drag car than front wheel drive cars, and many rear wheel drive cars too...

If you run stock, no problem, but if you increase the power, you need to upgrade trany, deferential, cv joints and of course "tires" to begin with........

even running it stock numerous times in the quarter mile will damage the suspect rear-ends on the s2ks

The s2000 is just like any other car. If you beat it up too much, it's going to break. It has a weak rear end, but it has survived numerous clutch drops and hard launches in my car.

Who cares if it was made for the twisties, it can handle the 1/4 just fine. You think the car doesn't get beat up around the turns? I don't know about you guys, but I beat on my car through the twisties more than at the drag strip.

My brother has a 97 Z-28. Drag car? Yes. Break parts? Yup. Launching any car hard will break stuff. My brother ripped apart his trans mount launching the car.
