Q about HID's
just was wondering if there was a difference in the K between the AP1 & AP2? it seems to me that the AP2 hid's are brighter have more of the blue ish color to them then the AP1. is it just me ?

technically brighter and more blue dont go together. I know the ballists are different but I think the bulbs are the same. I KNOW that the bulbs in the AP1 are 4300k which is about as close to pure white as possible and hence being the most useable light

both ap1 and ap2 use 4300k bulbs....ballast do not help with color they are both 35 ballast. the reason why your ap2 probably has a bit more color is the ap2 bulbs are going to be newer than the ap1 therefore the ap2 bulbs dont have much more life on them thus giving a more colorful cutoff band.
Also both projectors lens are clear with no "frosting" or fresnels. its just how new your bulb is going to be unless someone modifed the shield for more color

thats because a brand new bulb hasnt color shifted yet....its roughly 100 hours for a brand new bulb to colorshift into the naturl kevlin temp that the bulb is set at. So that is why his new bulb looked a little yellow

The cutoff shield is slightly different between the AP1 and AP2. the AP2 shield is set so that the cutoff line is slightly lower on the road to keep from blinding oncoming drivers; you see the blue part of the "rainbow" in the cutoff pattern.
