Purchasing my MY06 next weekend - tips/advice?

Run, don't walk, away from the Honda Music Link for your I-Pod connection.
I got it and it's a connection but the Honda TTS (?) software that installs on your computer to then merge and generate voice tags for Artist and Albums just sucks!
There must be better ways to connect the I-Pod to your stock HU - should you decide to keep it.

Earnhardt Honda is an Arizona club sponsor. They help us out with a lot of things. Not sure where you are looking to buy your car from but go over to Earnhardt!
Thanks for all the help guys...

1.) Will the dealership allow me to include the hard top in the total cost of the vehicle? (so I can finance it along with the vehicle) Hard top should run 2500-3000 I believe.
- You can, but why do you want a hard top? You're in Arizona, not Michigan, and it sounds like a wasted 3k if you ask me. At any rate, if you get a HT with the car, and finance it, it will cost you too much. Get the car, then decide after a couple months if you want a HT and get one straight out.
2.) Hardtop storage rack (for those who have it). Do you recommend it?
- Make your own is probably best, although I've heard people just put them on blankets too.
3.) Titanium shift knob (Yea, its probably over priced at the dealership, but is it a nice thing to have?)
- Not worth it. Look at a VooDoo countersunk know or a short shifter with stock knob though - definitely worth the money.
4.) XM satellite radio. I need to purchase extra materials from the dealership in order to have this work, correct? If I need to mount the antenna on the outside of the car, forget about it...not interested in ruining the curves on the car.
- Satellite requires a special exterior antenna, but I think you can mount it on your dashboard if you don't want to ruin the lines of the car.
5.) iPod link. How much would the dealership charge me for this? Worth it? (I use to have an iPod, but I can get one again for fairly cheap)
- Not worth it - get an aftermarket HU.
6.) Security system. I see the other thread posted here about dealer or aftermarket security systems. Seems like I will just get the basic keyless entry and buy an aftermarket 2-way security system on my own.
- Factory is not worth it - get aftermarket.
7.) I will be parking my car in direct sunlight in hot hot Arizona. Will the retractable roof start to be damaged in 115 degrees F days? I will be putting a shade to protect the dash...and tinting the rear window. But I'm worried about the soft top material on hot days.
- No. If anything, it will be more pliable and less likely to tear.
8.) This is my first manual car....so what do you...haha just kidding. Got you there.

why do you need a convex mirror?
my mirror's on it's way from australia
two cheaper options:
- never drive with the top up
- get one of those little $3 sticky mirrors to put on your regular driver side mirror
