Purchase Advice
Hello all. I am going to buy a S2000 in the next 60 days and wanted to know if I could get some advice and/or feedback about other people's buying experience. I currently own a DelSol, which I purchased new back in '94, but I'm going to keep it for my work vehicle and use the S2000 for 'whenever'. Plus, the DelSol has been good to me and I feel guilty for parting with it...
btw - I've read all the FAQs and only see the MSRP link so I apologize if I missed something or there is some other place I should post this thread.
My assumption at this point is that I will most likely have to pay sticker price for this vehicle, which is OK. I would be curious to know how much other people paid for their S2000s. Also, is there any way to get one of these vehicles for less than sticker?
I did call one of the MSRP dealers on the list and got a quote for just that, which is nice - no hassle. This was a relief because the dealer closest to me has $7,500 added to the price as 'adjusted market value'. They were rude to me and asked me questions like 'are you sure you can afford to purchase a $40K vehicle?' and 'please don't shift the gears while the car isn't running'. I told them they were rude and I would take my business elsewhere. I expect treatment like that anyway because I have long hair and people usually assume that I couldn't possibly make a lot of money. LOL I'll just drop in after I buy one from another dealer and rub it in...
Another question: If I wait until September or October to purchase, will I have more trouble ordering one since it will be closer to the new model year?
Thanks!
