Pulling my transmission.
Today is the suck.
On top of the previously canted encounter with the Texas Department of Public Safety, I took my car in today for buzzing when decelerating. This noise was very loud in 3rd and somewhat audible in 4th and I didn't think much of it until I ran into the TSB 54.
So today I dropped off my car with my technician at the dealer who is a really cool guy. He called me just now and he says the noise is really loud and nasty and he's not familiar with it. He thinks the transmission might be bad? Could this be the case?
Honda apparently told him to pull the transmission so my car is having surgery right now and is going to be on the rack over night.
Any advice? Anyone have this kind of early prognosis on a TSB 54?
I thought maybe it still could be the springs on the clutch housing, just a particular case of it, but he has me worried that the transmission might really be bad. I really don't think I did anything wrong and it certainly seems to shift and perform fine for me other than the decceleration noise.
After the horror stories of some people being turned down under warranty, I'm worried.

There might be too much backlash in the transmission. This is the amount of play between the gears. As you have more backlash, things can get noisy - especially under deceleration.
Tough to say for sure tho.
