Edit: Yup. That's a JDM key, not a US key.

This is a US Market key blank:
I should have mentioned my car is a 2001 German model and my original key looks the same as the picture in my post with the honda parts label.

Just found this very detailed TSB that states that key 35113-S84-A02 is added to the ECU. So it would seem that it cannot be cloned from an existing key.

The part number for the AP2 S2000 key with the logo appears to be: 35111-S2A-307 ?

Hi, S2k owners! Does anybody have tried blank key from 1998 Honda Accord. Part number (35113-S84-A01) is almost similar to AP1 Blank key (35113-S84-A02) and overall shape is the same, but the price is three times less. Do you think it will work with AP1 S2000?

I doubt the immobilizer chip is in that key. I know the key picture in post #14 does not have it. There is a thread where that key was modified and had one installed to make it work.

I have read in TSB 00-049 following:
Adding One Key for 2000–02 Accord, 2000 and later Insight, 1999 and later Odyssey, 2003 and later Pilot, 2000 and later S2000
NOTE: These models have an enhanced immobilizer system. You can add one ignition key with the HDS using just one programmed ignition key. For adding multiple ignition keys, you need all of your customer’s programmed ignition keys (master and valet) for the vehicle, including any T5 keys.
Preparation
To add one key with the HDS, you need these items:
• 2000–02 Accord, 2000 and later Insight, 1999–02
Odyssey, 2000 and later S2000: Immobilizer Key
blank (master), P/N 35113-S84-A01, H/C 5435433
or P/N 35113-S84-A02, H/C 6344436

I bought my 2001 S2000 and it came with only one original key and one remote. Here's the cheapest way I found to add 2 more of each.

REMOTES: Buy used ones from E-Bay. Used OEM E4EG8DJ remotes should be $20-60 each with prices varying based on condition. Brand new generic ones are $18-$20 each. The remotes are easy to program.

KEYS: You can buy 2 transponder HD106 keys from E-Bay here for $20 shipped that have a non-programmable transponder chip. Take the 2 keys to a local hardware store and have them duplicate your original. Small businesses are usually cool, while big places like Lowe's or Home Depot won't cut customer provided blanks. Locksmiths are also more expensive. With your freshly cut transponder key ready, program the key to your ECM using an Autel AP200 OB2 scan tool that costs $50 shipped. Be sure to buy the original WHITE AP200 and NOT the newer BLACK/RED AP200H and be sure to choose HONDA as your lifetime vehicle brand (any additional brand costs $20/year). The good news is that you'll have a Honda specific scan tool when you're done.

NOTE: DO NOT buy HD105 T5 chip keys. Those require a locksmith to "clone" your original key to the new blanks. That will cost more than just buying the Autel AP200.

Hi, would you know if this 35113-S84-A02 Key has the same chip as Acura RSX Type-S? I've been wanting to get a "Honda" or key with the H logo on it but couldnt find definitive info on which is compatibe. I modified one of my keys into the TypeR style fob key but wanting to do another regular key with the H. Your thoughts?

I don't understand how the eBay key linked above can work with an S2000 even though the listing says it is compatible.

EDIT TO ADD; The HD106 key appears to be for an AP1 car. for my 2004 AP2 the OEM key is 35113-S9A-A01

eBay key on left, 2004 S2000 key on right.

@JimSt The E-Bay key that I linked is specific for the AP1, not AP2. If you buy an AP2 immobilizer blank and get it cut at a locksmith, you can still use the Autel AP200 to program your blank to the ECM.

For the AP2, you'd buy an immobilizer blank like this:
AP2 Immobilizer Blank Key

There are numerous cheaper ones too, but those typically won't come with the Honda logo.
