Zacreth! Do a search on your local state corporation commision and look for the bureau of insurance for your state.. file a formal complaint. Drop your insurance as soon as you can get other coverage.
To bring everyone up to date the concierge service is scary.. they take the car to a body shop they picked that is chosen based on how cheap and fast the repairs are done. The crappiest hole in the wall body shops can barely make a buck on progressive repairs.
Consumers created progresive by wanting to save $10 per month and shop online.
Pick a company like Erie insurance (JD Power award for service) or Statefarm.
As long as you are not high risk you can get good coverage for about the same price or in my case its actually cheaper to get good insurance.
I started working in shops 14 yrs ago and Progressive is the absolute worst company and is barely providing coverage. If you have a good experience it is probably because you went to a good shop that knows how to fight with them.
I would urge anyone with Progressive to shop around for real insurance. Anyone else is better.

GEICO all the way. Had 2 accidents, 3 weeks apart, and they were the EXACT SAME damage. Both times, not so much as a hiccup. Gave me my money (all of it) within 3 days, no BS to deal with.

Geico is better than:

AIG
Allstate
Statefarm
Progressive

In NY anyways.

This is 100% true. I was hit by someone who had geico. First they declared my car totalled which was completely ridiculous. Then getting the money I deserved was the most frustrating experience of my life. I will never ever ever insure anything with geico.

brief description of my dealings: the 1st quote they gave me, which was "THEIR FINAL OFFER!!" was $613.19.. yup 19 cents. this was for a vehicle with a book value of over $3k, excluding the 10k+ in mods I had into it. I eventually squeeked almost $3k out of them which was enough to fix all the damage with money to spare.. but yea it was totalled!

There is always the chance you could get a person who is a jerk from even a good company, but again, ask a good body shop in the area and they will tell you who consistantly pays what it owed.

Since there were several positive comments on USAA, I felt the need to add my two cents:

I was a loyal USAA customer for years. When another guy rear-ended me in my Audi many years ago, USAA were great to deal with. In general I'm a good driver and haven't had much trouble over the years.

But I had two bad experiences with them, the most recent of which caused me to switch after many years.

The gist of it was this: I was out of town on work for an unexpectedly long time, and accidentally let my USAA coverage lapse. It was totally my fault, but when I attempted to reinstate the coverage, they tried to jack my rate up substantially (like 30%). I hadn't been in any new accidents, and if anything my credit had improved since I first started using them. So I felt that this arbitrary "penalty" for re-instating my policy with them was utter BS. I went to State Farm instead, and got the same coverage for about 20% LESS than I'd been paying USAA all those years. Jerks.

USAA also strongly recommended me to use a mobile glass replacement service once, and they did a terrible job. I don't know that I'd blame USAA for that directly, but I certainly don't consider it a good mark for them either.
