Default Product Review:

First let me start by saying these are soley my personal thoughts, opinions, and feelings of this product.

*Why did I choose Exedy?*
My car is my daily driver and has been supercharged for about 8 months. With time, the OEM clutch finally gave out and started slipping. I was in the market for a new clutch. I wanted something that would hold, something more aggresive than stock, and something that creates a new experience. I had considered HTG's package and the Comp clutches, but have heard how they keep driveability "like OEM". Then there was the Exedy. I have heard horror stories of how people HATE the Exedy clutch and advise people NOT to get it. This however was their experience. I have also heard many good things of this clutch. "You won't find a better clutch" or "The car now feels like a C-class go-kart.". After talking to a few members of each viewpoint I decided that what I look for in my driving experience and my driving style was more similar to the people who love the clutch.

*Installation*
As many of you know, this job is horrific. I did it over about a week's time (few hours here, few hours there; as for I have a busy schedule) following the service manual. There are some complicated parts of the install, but most is strait forward. If you feel uncomfortable reading over the manual, I would advise you to find a professional. Take your time, I ended up kicking myself in the face for not using a proper way to mark the steering columm. (Acrylic paint falls off) I therefore had to remove my supercharger, alternator, and A/C compressor again. Torque specs are the same as OEM for this clutch kit.

*First impression*
Holy $#!%. The thing grabs. Backing out of the garage I stalled and it made me smile. The engine is MUCH more responsive (due to a lighter flywheel in the kit). It is fairly tricky, I went to a parking lot for about 15 minutes before driving on public streets. The gripping power is amazing. The force needed to depress the clutch pedal has also increased. (Due to heavy duty pressure plate) The clutch is difficult to start from a stop, but once you get going it really does feel like a little go kart or slot car. I realized how fast my car was again since the clutch is holding. I love every aspect of this clutch except starting from a stop. (if you try to keep rolling at a stop sign etc. it will help) Once you get going you really experience the beauty of this clutch. After a few stalls, I started to get the hang of it. (Nowhere near perfect, but able to drive) I find this clutch makes driving this car a whole new experience, a challengine and rewarding experience. I like it!

*1 month follow up*
My car is my daily driver, and in about a month I will return and fill this portion out with regaurds to driveability, getting used to the clutch, and more general impressions of it.

Thanks for reading,
Sam

Most of the people complaining about them never even owned one or took the time to get used to it. Of course it's not going to be easy for a week or two.

Extremely well engineered piece.

It has a nice buzz in reverse. Downshifting I can hear a slight buzz. I have an Invidia TP/Catback so it is harder to hear. My OEM one buzzed just as much if not more. When I took the OEM disk out all four springs were loose.

The OEM one didn't buzz when new. No one would be so stupid as to accept delivery of a new car with that god-awful deceleration buzz. It developed over time. I hope that your Exedy remains quiet, but asking if it buzzes right out of the box is rather silly, since the defective OEM ones typically took 10-20k miles to develop the buzz.

This kit I bought used with 3K miles on it. No noticeable buzz yet.
