Default Pricing Help on a 03' SK2 - Northern Virginia

I am looking to buy a 03' S2000 (formula Red w/ Black Interior). I live in Northern VA and have received internet quotes of $33k. Price includes all applicable fees, destination charges ($460), alarm (installed). Excludes VA sales tax.

Can this be the best price?? I purchased my 2001 BMW less then MSRP and always used Edmunds pricing where 5% profit over invoice is fair. I can't believe that at the end of the model year and with slow sales that MSRP is still a fair price.

I think I do a much better job, please let me know if any one can help me from making a big mistake. Any local advice and pricing experience would be greatly appreciated. What dealers are good, salespeople to seek out and price you recently paid would be the cat's pajamas!!!!

Thanks in advance from a new to be Sk2 owner

T

Depends on how many 03's they have on the lot, but your first mistake was getting an internet price quote. Your best price is going to be from calling and talking to someone. Several hundred over invoice is fair.

A dealer I have not yet contacted in MD has six on the lot. Thanks for the advice on going in person.

I shopped Richmond Honda - they have three 03's (red, white, black) and were willing to deal.

$33k is MSRP. Try getting closer to invoice, which I think is about $29,875 or something like that.

I bought my 03 Suzuka Blue at $500 over invoice ... but that's here in California

The dealer said $33.3k out the door? I still feel like I can do better. This now includes the sales taxes. He said EVERYTHING. I feel like $32.2k will do it for me? Am I aiming to low? That is $750 over invoice. $32k gives them $500 over invoice.

I think $32k will be my highest offer. Am I crazy. I need help, Thursday is battle day

I purchased my 2003 Silverstone 2 months ago with 15 miles from Criswell Honda in GAithersburg for 29,327. Although i reside in VA, as many of you local folks may know, MD doesnt charge the 300 processing fee as dealers do in VA. I know Darcars was also willing to give me the same price as well, so try them..

Good luck K

Theresa, I think that you could probably make them back down to $500 over invoice (or even less) if you just stick firm. I would have fought harder for invoice on my S2k, but I was already feeling a little guilty about pulling the guy in on my day off. My advice to you - don't feel guilty! Be firm and get what you want. I should take my own advice dangit!

Bought a 2003 S2000 (<10 miles) on 6/30 for sightly under $31.5k OTD, which included dealer processing fee ($25), destination ($460), MD tax (3%), and VA tags ($104). $33k before tax is WAY too much, even with an alarm. Always buy on the last day of the month. $29,327 is outstanding! Wonder if a trade-in was involved?
