Price on MY04, Silverstone on Red/Black
I have a dealer offering me $1490 ($1000 + destination chg.) off sticker. I'm about to pull the trigger for a January delivery. You think I can do better on the price?

I was offered $31,800 without haggling on a Silverstone with Red/Black. This was $1500 over invoice according to them. You can always do better but it depends on if you want to haggle them to death. I was good to go with this deal and trade my car, but some things came up. My wife is pregnant and major layoffs at my company which makes me reluctant to buy anything big right now and a 2 seater with a kid isn't practical. Wife bitched about it as well, so I decided to get my deposit back. As soon as my wife gets a job (cpa/mba) I'm going to probably lease an '04 or 3 years and keep my paid off 330 as a daily driver. Then every 3 years get a fun can while keeping the bimmer as the daily. At least that is my plan.

Yes you can do better. Just bullshiat the dealer.
Go in and tell them that you have another dealer offering the car at 30,500 before TT&L but you would rather purchase from them as they are located closer to your home and you will bringing the car to them to have it serviced.
Just be patient and you can get pretty much any price you want within reason.

You bullshit the dealer, dealer bullshits you. Sometimes I don't blame that AZ Mitsubishi dealer for not selling the EVO for e.bay price. Just go and negotiate your best deal. Don't lie. I don't lie to my customers, if they say they can buy it for 2500 under MSRP at another dealership, and I'll tell them I can't match the price, but they are still not going to that dealership, I know they are b.s'ing. Someone that has a legit and better deal from another dealership would not even waist another second trying to talk me down on the price.
Matt.
