got my s2000 when i was 16(actually 4 days before i turned 16). Saved up money from the time i was 12 to buy a FD....then i saw the s2000. Did a little research and fell in love! So i put a down payment on it with the money i had saved for the FD and worked 70 hours a week to pay it off. 5 years later and i still have her! I love s2000's!!!
Good luck with your purchase!

I'm turning 19 tomorrow. Paid a 15% down payment for the S and am currently in school (On my Co-op workterm) so paying off the monthly payments isn't hard.
Good luck with your search, and keep in mind that if you get worried about crashing or taking the S for a little rip without much experience, you may want to consider an AP2 with traction and stability control.

I was taking a turn at like 15 mph on half-way iced roads in my Texas neighborhood and I hit a bump in the road or something and it started twitching my wheels and made me start sliding a bit.

I just thought of something, the youngest person to own an s2k is the girls in High School Music! (Nah not really I dunno her age and the movie is lame)

I suggest you sign up for an autocross practice session and drive the car at its limits to connect with the car. But just don't get big headed and drive the same way on the road.
Ap2's are probably going to be more friendly with you, since the rear is more predictable and less twitchy.
