Default Potential problem installing glass soft top

I'm working on installing my new glass top on my 01 and I'm concerned with the way the glass is folding. I'm afraid to put it all the way down because it looks like the glass might end up breaking. Is this normal for someone who used to have a top w/ a plastic window. Has anyone else had the same experience?

you need to make sure you modify the frame so that it folds correctly

Are you installing an OEM top or an aftermarket top? I know that the OEM top need to have the frame mod'ed to work right. There is an aftermartket top with a smaller window that installs without mod'ing the top. And then there is the aftermarket top, made of 02+ that would require the same mod to fit as well. So what are you installing?

The frame is factory original for the 01. The top is an aftermarket Robbins top. I was always impressed w/ the Robbins replacement top I had on my MG so I went with them for the S.

Robbins included 2 straps that attach between the middle and the last bow and I attached them as per their directions (their modding directions were the same that are in the s2ki.com PDF - http://www.s2000.org/mods/top/s2k_glass_to...uctions_v2.pdf)

Edit: In trying to take some pics this morning, I put the top in different positions and I found that it only seems to go down about 3/4 of the way. I'm not sure what is wrong, but here are the pics.

The top as far as it will go down right now.

Should be fine if you added the straps to the frame rails. You might have to assist the top as it folds down the first few times.

The fabric is suppose to go over bow 3 and bow 2. You only have it going over bow 2.

Thanks for letting me know. According to the directions from Robbins, the fabric is supposed to go over bow 3 and under bow 2, making something like an S curve with the fabric. I thought that was strange but I also thought they knew what they were talking about.

How long did the whole install take you? I need to do this during the winter sometime.
