Default Potential bad over rev!

Well last night I was taking some girl for ride and I wanted show her a little fun so I down shifted into second and stepped on it hit 9k anad shift in to third now I'm not sure if exactly shifted at 9k in 3rd, but it was some where in the area and when I went to put it into 4th I accident went 2nd gear.... Now for those who know what a bad over rev sounds like then you know how bad it sounds, as soon as i heard it (1/2 second later) i let off the gas and put in neutral... First thing in my head, wow im a fu*kin idiot so I drop her off and take it easy all the way to my freind house. Everything seems ok until I get home and I come into neutral in my garage, i was idling at around 800-900 rpm (kinda normal for my car) but I was gettin a kind of lumpy feeling coming from the car... (pretty much a shuttering feeling but a little more spaced out)... So im like damn... so i back out, turn the car off and take it around the block then I get back and everything feels ok... wake up this morning, turn the car on, while warming up get the same lumpy feeling noise as I warm up it goes away, I'm idling kind of low... Do you think there is something wrong? What should I do!!!!

The car drives and pulls great and seems ok, no CEL, Its just the first turn on and idle is kind of rough.... Im hoping its nuthing too bad because I dint go from like 6th to 2nd gear but from high 3rd to second..... Let me know what you guys think may me wrong or what should I do!!! I was thinking about pulling the battery and let it learn to re-idle and learn driving habbits again....

All help will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Sounds like you may have learned an expensive lesson for not so expensive cost. Pay attention to your shifts.... sounds like you caught it before you did any damage.

If it gets worse you better get it checked.

IMO i'd get it checked out asap, in case you cracked a retainer or something. i've heard of valves dropping slowly after an overrev, and eventually causing valve/piston contact and doing WAY more damage than if people had just gotten it fixed in the first place.

I would avoid using the car until it is completely checked.

Things don't get better over time after an over-rev.

First off, I agree with the others that said don't drive it anymore until you get it checked out. If it wasn't idling rough before the mis-shift, and is now idling rough, there is a chance that some damage occurred.

Second, take a writing class, it hurts my head to read post's that are written this way
